From the Principal 27 March

As the week has passed there have been many conversations here at School about the way ahead. The most important matter to immediately manage is the ongoing education of the girls. To this end, on Monday we will launch our I Love Glennie Schooling site for our remote learning program. This week’s edition of eNews contains a significant amount of information about this program. I commend to you the articles written by Ms Gloudemans and Mrs Harris. Where parents are playing a critical role in navigating this site, we hope it is clear. As per most sites, there is no harm in pressing on the options to explore.

On another significant matter, we have been asked to consider options for ongoing supervision of girls over the coming period. Information about what will be on offer will be communicated in a separate email.

We are ever conscious of the need for many girls to continue to explore the creative interests they love. So..., I am setting the following challenge for girls (and parents can join in as well) to be completed during the week ahead. This link will take you to the backing music for Mamma Mia. The challenge is to create lyrics (and sing them) that relate to the present coronavirus and its impact on: Glennie / you / education and the world at large. You do not need to cover all ideas. Post (by Thursday morning) your finished recording into this Google Drive folder and we will collate a selection for viewing next Friday. The standard of lyrics we have in mind are those that would be suitable for inclusion in a Disney production! Get creating and send your entry.

Have a great last week of term!

Mr Peter Crawley
