Year 10 Parent Information Evening – QCE and Subject Selection for Year 11 2021

An opportunity for parents of girls in Year 10 to gain an overall picture of what is in store for their daughters in Years 11 and 12. We will outline the features of the new Queensland Certificate of Education and explore the steps taken in the subject selection process. Specific topics will include:

• The Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE)
• The Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) and career path considerations
• Vocational education options
• Making subject choices in the new system

Years 10 and 11 Parent Information Seminar - Understanding ATAR

A webinar introducing the new Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) for parents of girls beginning their senior years of schooling. The webinar will be delivered by the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) and will explore topics such as:

• Eligibility requirements
• ATAR calculation
• Inter-subject scaling
• Vocational education for Tertiary Entrance

Year 12 Parent Information Evening - ATAR and Tertiary Entrance
Monday, 27 July at 6:30pm in The Glennie Room

An important opportunity for parents of girls in Year 12 to learn about the processes involved in gaining an ATAR, and to navigate the QTAC tertiary entrance procedures. Specific topics will include:

• Calculating final subject results (QCAA’s adjusted method for 2020)
• The ATAR
• University entrance – QTAC processes

For parents who are unable to attend the presentations, the slides and accompanying information will be made available in the AcademicLife@Glennie Google site on the Portal. Details will be sent to parents after each event.
