Brisbane Lions visit Glennie

On Monday, we were privileged to have two Brisbane Lions players come and visit the School and run a skills session with the girls.

Harris Andrews and Zac Bailey from the Lions spent an hour with the girls teaching them kicking and handballing skills. Our girls were very enthusiastic and gained a great deal from having the professionals here.

Glennie was chosen by AFLQ Darling Downs as the school of choice to host the players and local media as we are gaining a reputation as a local powerhouse in the increasingly popular women’s AFL scene.

On Wednesday, we had our first training session with a great turn out of girls. We would love to welcome more girls into the program if they feel AFL is something they would like to try. Our emphasis is on fun and enjoyment and definitely, no experience is necessary.

Please head to the Sports Office and the staff there will be only too happy to assist.
