Australian Of The Year Award For GOG

Glennie Old Girl, Natasha Johnston (Price, 1990), received the Australian of the Year - Queensland Local Hero award earlier this week.

In 2014, Natasha, together with friend Nicki Blackwell, co-founded Drought Angels, working out of a single shipping container in her backyard.  Now in 2020, the charity has helped an estimated 7000 farming families across Australia and operates out of a base in Chinchilla.

Natasha received the prestigious award for her role in establishing and running the charity.  She will go on to represent Queensland in the national Australian of the Year awards next year.

Glennie regularly supports Drought Angels, recently donating some of the proceeds from this year’s Glennie Fair.  Natasha was also the guest speaker at The Glennie School Foundation’s inaugural Ladies’ Lunch in 2019, an event that raises funds to support Glennie scholarships, making a Glennie education accessible to more girls.
