The Volleyball Australia - Queensland Academy of Sport Volleyball Program is a partnership between Volleyball Australia (VA), Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS), and Volleyball Queensland (VQ).
This year, the program is hosting the QAS Volleyball Talent Search Camp from 23-24 September, which aims to identify athletes aged between 6 to 13 years that have the potential to represent Queensland and Australia at a national and international level in the future.
Volleyball is not just the most gender-equal sport in Australia, but it is also the third biggest Olympic team sport, is the second-largest team sports by participation in the world, and is popular with young children through to the over 50s.
There are more than 240,000 people who play volleyball throughout Australia and it remains one of Australia’s fastest-growing sports.
Queensland offers one of Australia’s leading volleyball programs with experienced Olympic and National coaches who develop not only the athlete but the human being.
With many Queenslanders representing Australia on the international stage in both Indoor and Beach volleyball this year, as well as many heading to DIVISION 1 colleges in Canada and the USA on scholarships, volleyball offers many career pathways that include education as well as athletic success.
