Andrews Cup Soccer

On Friday, our Year 5 and 6 Soccer teams travelled to Brisbane to compete in the Invitational Andrews Cup Soccer Competition. After a long drive, the girls were very excited to take the field and showcase their skills.

The Year 5 girls managed a clean sweep, winning all four games in the C Division. This took them to the grand final where they were to play against Clayfield College. The girls had one last job to do, which they did well, bringing home the C Division Trophy. Huge congratulations must go to this team as they did not concede a goal throughout the entire day. Wonderful job girls.

The Year 6 team played in the B Division where they faced tough competition. The girls played some fantastic soccer and also managed to get themselves through to the grand final. They were set to play Moreton Bay College, their main rival throughout the afternoon. Moreton Bay College managed a couple of quick goals in the game and sadly our girls were unable to come back, placing them runners up. Congratulations to this team, you showed great teamwork to push through and finish the final in style.

We would also like to thank Izzy Harris (Year 11) for taking the time out of her week to be our official referee. Thank you Izzy, it is wonderful to have you involved in Junior Soccer.

Thank you to our coaches Mr Broom, Mr Griffiths, Mr Donovan and staff Miss Broom and Mrs Harris.
