A message from the Dean of Students

A warm welcome to our new families and welcome back to our returning families. I hope that you and your daughters have settled well into the Glennie community and are ready for a wonderful year. Last year, we reviewed our Pastoral Care programs and this year we are looking forward to implementing some changes to improve student wellbeing. I look forward to sharing more of our Pastoral Care Program over the coming weeks. Communication channels remain the same; if a student or parent has a concern, please contact the Tutor Teacher or Class Teacher initially and then the relevant Head of House. If you still have concerns, then please contact me.

We have such a beautiful school and uniform and we want to see all students have pride in it, and themselves, by wearing the full school uniform correctly, while at school and outside of the school grounds. Please familiarise yourself with our Uniform Policy. The Panama hat should be worn to and from school each day and during breaks. Middle and Senior Years students may wear sports uniform on a Wednesday.

Any student who wishes to drive to school must read our Permission to Drive Policy, complete the appropriate paperwork, and request an interview with me before they are granted permission to drive to school. Boarding students should not have cars at school; however, in exceptional circumstances, an application may be made to the Head of Boarding, Ms Donna Grant.

Information was sent home during the holidays regarding the Years 7, 8 and 9 camps. Please note that camps run from 26 – 29 March, which includes the Toowoomba Show Holiday. More detailed information and forms to be completed will be sent home in the coming weeks. Please return information by the due date.

Best wishes for a fabulous 2019!

Mrs Jodi Blades
Dean of Students
