A bench for buddies

The Dowson and Brown boarding house courtyard is now the home to The Elizabeth Aisbett Memorial Buddy Bench. This beautiful bench is placed by the senior class of 1994 on the occasion of their 25th reunion, in loving memory of their friend and classmate.

Elizabeth was a boarder at The Glennie School, graduating in 1994.

Upon her graduation, she became a real child of the world, travelling extensively and making new friends wherever she went with her kindness, intelligence, compassion and quick wit.

Classmates fondly recall Liz’s love of literature; how she would often take pleasure in finding a sunny spot outside to read a book or engage in a lengthy discussion about her favourite novels with friends.

Liz’s friends and family have placed this bench for boarders and day girls to be able to sit in the sunshine and dream of their shady spot at home.  They could enjoy reading quietly or engage in conversation with a new friend during their time at Glennie as Liz did during her years as a Glennie girl.
