As a school for girls, Glennie generates a high level of engagement in learning.  An all-girls atmosphere allows safe risk taking, is unbounded by notions of 'girls vs boys', encourages academic achievement and develops a greater sense of connectedness with the School and each other.  There is clear acknowledgement that girls thrive in collaborative teams, can participate at all levels, celebrate achievement and become leaders at many levels.

Glennie Year 7s already 'Flying'

For a school that already has a ‘flying start’ in Year 7, Glennie is the best choice.

Since the establishment of The Glennie School’s Middle Years program for girls in Years 7 to 9 in 2005, our Year 7s have enjoyed a ‘flying start’ to their learning on the secondary school campus long before the State Government made its decision to introduce Year 7 to secondary school in 2015.

Boarding at Glennie also commences at Year 7.

For Glennie Year 7s, the well-established Middle Years program has meant that the girls look forward to learning in an environment where they already share facilities with Seniors and as educators agree, young teenagers are ready for bigger challenges and the greater depth of learning that secondary schools provide.

Glennie’s Middle Years program is specifically designed to provide the opportunity for girls in Year 7 to learn and grow in ways that acknowledge and respect the unique and special time of adolescence. This program also provides the best environment for academic, emotional and social development.
