Middle & Senior Years Sports

The Sports program for Years 7 to 12 operates across five distinct areas. It enables girls of all ability to participate in sports. Girls involved in the Glennie Sports program can enjoy regional, state and national success in individual and team sports.

Specialist Coach Sports

swimGirls are encouraged to come and try these sports, no prior experience is necessary. Experienced and qualified coaches train girls in the following:

  • Track and Field
  • Cross Country
  • Strength and Conditioning
  • Swimming
  • Gymnastics
  • Tennis

Team Sports

Team sports are played outside school hours on week nights or the weekend. There are teams suitable for all levels of skills. Team sports may include:

  • Basketball
  • Equestrian
  • Football
  • Futsal
  • Netball
  • Softball
  • Touch
  • Volleyball
  • Waterpolo

Recreational Sports

Recreational sports are for fun and fitness and take place after school. Recreational Sports are non-competitive. The object is for girls to enjoy themselves, to learn new skills and to be active.

School Representative Sports

Girls can nominate to trial for Toowoomba District, Darling Downs, Queensland or Australian teams. Representative sports often require certain criteria to be met.

Glennie also enters representative athletes in Toowoomba District Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics competitions throughout the year. Selections for these teams are based on the results of school carnivals and attendance at training sessions.

Glennie Representative Sports

Glennie enters teams in high-level sporting tournaments and carnivals. Team members are selected from girls playing for Glennie in the local team competitions. Selection is based on experience, team requirements and dedication to training.
