Facilities - to bring out her best

The Glennie School has a wealth of outstanding facilities that have been established over the years through the generosity of successive generations of families within the School community, students, School Council members and staff.

These facilities include well equipped, air conditioned classrooms and specialist areas, a national standard synthetic track for athletic and field events, first rate performing arts facilities, an international class indoor Aquatic Centre, a notebook computer program and intranet/internet service delivered throughout the School by wireless technology, supported by technical staff and information/ technology/multimedia resources. There is much more including the Glennie Community Kindergarten (co-ed), air conditioned classrooms and computer facilities for upper primary classes (completed in 2005) on the Junior Years campus and upgraded boarding facilities for Junior and Senior boarders.

New Facilities. The continuing up grade of boarding accommodation which commenced in 2004, will see the refurbishment of the total living environment for 200 boarders by the end of 2010. To commemorate the School’s Centenary in 2008, Centenary Plaza is to be constructed in the latter part of 2007. This area will provide a shady and colourful environment for Glennie girls to relax whilst enhancing the School’s grounds.

Future Development. Junior Years re-development Stage 2 will add to the recently completed upper primary classrooms by providing contemporary facilities for the Junior Years library, art, technology and teaching resources area. Completion of this stage is planned for by 2009/10. The ten-year campus development plan encompasses a continued review of existing facilities for the Senior School and incorporates a range of new developments. A new indoor gymnasium, a covered facility for sport e.g. netball, basketball, tennis etc, and further development of classrooms and grounds are also planned in the period leading up to 2015.

The Glennie School makes an excellent venue for a variety of events including sporting competitions, meetings and conferences.

For Glennie girls, facilities and opportunities abound emphasising that the School is a Community where tomorrow’s women learn.
