P & F Meeting Online

The Parents and Friends’ Association is pleased to let you know we will be offering the option for parents to ‘attend’ our next P & F meeting on Tuesday 12 September via an online link. We are keen to give as many parents as possible the opportunity to attend the meeting. This remote option will let you attend from the comfort of home!

We will commit to this first meeting going for no longer than one hour from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. The link and an agenda will be shared closer to the time. Please grab a drink and join us on the couch!

Chess and Tennis

Chess coach, Mr Carter would like to remind girls that the Teams Chess Championships are only weeks away. In addition to meeting for Chess Club at Glennie, girls can attend a Chess Clinic on Wednesdays from 3:45 to 4:45pm.

Get a Flu Injection!

Flu season is upon us. If your daughter is unwell with any of the following symptoms: fever, aches and pains, chills, sore throat, diarrhoea or vomiting,  please keep her at home and seek medical advice.

It is not too late to have a flu injection, this is safe for children from six months of age and is best obtained from your family GP. We commonly see a spike in influenza cases after the Ekka so now is the ideal time to get your flu shot!

Golf Day

Join the Glennie School Foundation for the annual Audi Centre Toowoomba Corporate Golf Classic on Friday 4 August.  

This will be a great opportunity to play a round of golf in a relaxed environment.  Our post-golf canape reception is a great chance for Glennie friends and families to come together with some great prizes to be won.  

We also have a special discount rate for mini golf if a full 18 holes is not your thing (contact the Foundation office to receive the discount details)

There are two easy ways you can support our Glennie girls through this golf day.  

PLAY: We are playing a two person Ambrose in groups of four.  Booking is simple and can be done online at trybooking.com/QKUA  Your registration fee includes a gourmet lunch and canapes.

Colour Run - we need obstacles!

The Glennie Sports Supporters are holding a colour fun run for the Glennie girls on 14 September. All proceeds raised from this colour run will go towards the new Sports and Health Centre that will start construction towards the end of this year.

Host families needed

14 July 2017

Glennie will host the Sugiyama Primary School during their 2017 Study Tour, which will be held from Tuesday 25 July to Tuesday 1 August. Sugiyama students would appreciate a stay with a Glennie family for seven nights. They will be Primary School students and will spend time in class with girls in Years 5 and 6 whilst here at Glennie.

All activities, except the weekend of 29 and 30 July, will be carried out during school time. The students can be supervised after school at Glennie, to fit in with your work requirements if necessary.

During the study tour, host families are requested to:

  • Drop off and pick the girls up each school day 
  • Provide the girls with breakfast, morning tea, lunch and dinner, including a packed lunch for school
  • Speak English to your student/s
  • Spend time with your student to make the experience as memorable as possible.

Becoming a host family can be a culturally rewarding experience for your family. All host families will be remunerated at the rate of $210.00 per seven nights.
