The position of Careers and VET Co-ordinator has been split into two separate roles. From the beginning of this term, Mrs Alison Bird will remain as Careers Advisor and Mrs Belinda Paul will be the VET Co-ordinator. Both will work part time. Mrs Bird will be available from Tuesday to Friday during Term 3 and Mrs Paul will be available on Monday and Wednesday.
Mrs Paul comes to Glennie with a lot of experience working in the VET sector and will be dealing with all Vocational Education and Training matters including traineeships and apprenticeships. Mrs Bird will remain the point of contact for all careers matters, including pathways advice, QTAC, subject choices and SET Planning.
If your daughter is thinking of participating in a traineeship, apprenticeship or a VET course she must now contact Mrs Paul rather than Mrs Bird. Her contacts details are firstname.lastname@example.org and her direct phone line is 07 4688 8793.
SET Planning for the Year 10 girls has started and this is a reminder that girls need to see Mrs Lesley Walker to book appointments. SET Planning interviews are an hour long and parents are encouraged to attend with their daughters. Those Year 12 students who wish to see Mrs Bird for a transitional interview regarding their post-school plans, can also book through Mrs Walker. These interviews are half an hour long and parents are also welcome to attend. Mrs Walker will be available to book appointments at the following times:
- Before school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday only
- Every lunch time between 12:45pm and 1:30pm and
- After school every day between 3:15pm and 3:45pm
Girls are reminded to use the School Careers and VET website as their first port of call for all information. Also a reminder that the School has subscribed to the MHS Careers newsletter and if you wish to receive this please use the contact form on www.mhscareers.com or email email@example.com with your name and email address and the name of the school.
