12 February 2016
It has been a wonderful start to the year for my family and me. We moved from Armidale to Toowoomba and have thoroughly enjoyed our first month here, despite the unexpected humidity. I could not have felt more welcomed by staff, students and parents alike and have really enjoyed getting to know everyone and the sense of community at Glennie.
It is a lovely walk along the verandah to the new Science Labs and I feel very privileged to teach in such state-of-the art facilities that inspire innovation. 11 February was the very first International Day of Women and Girls in Science and it is very fitting that there is a strong focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) in the School.
It has been a very busy start to 2016 with many events. Years 7, 8 and 9 are very excited about their upcoming camps. I am looking forward to getting to know Year 9 better by visiting their ecology camp and getting to know Years 7 and 8 as the year progresses.
