11 September 2015
The Glennie boarders have been studying hard for exams and are looking forward to the coming break. Naturally, our focus has been on work rather than entertainment. We did, however, celebrate the September birthdays with cake and cards on Tuesday.
This coming weekend will see the last session of Bella Chicks for this term with our junior boarders attending on Friday night. Miss Chris Putland has organised a special cinema presentation of the Pixels movie on Sunday.
On the final Tuesday of term, we will hold a special alphabet dinner. This is an annual event where the members of the various family tables dress up. Each table is provided with a letter of the alphabet and the girls always devise creative interpretations of their letter. The girls will also participate in a quiz. Prizes for both the quiz and the best outfits will be hotly contested. Our junior boarders have made table decorations. As Wednesday will be the last week of term, the boarders will enjoy a pyjama party dinner with bingo. This combination may sound quite odd, but it is a most enjoyable evening, with mini chocolate frogs for prizes. Both functions are run by the Glennie Boarding Committee.
