The term is already four weeks long and well underway with very busy boarders and staff. The junior boarders are making decorations for our forthcoming Recycled theme dinner. They are also looking forward to an etiquette dinner where we have a reminder session about basic good manners, plus how to consume soup without looking silly. Soup and a bread roll are always on the menu on etiquette dinner night.
All Glennie boarders are provided with a boarding produced etiquette booklet. We always enjoy taking the boarders out, and having many positive comments from the public is encouraging. It is important to know what to do in a dining setting and as I have explained to our boarders, one job interview I had included a dinner. While this was pleasant and friendly, the invitation to a meal was also an observation of my manners and ability to hold a conversation.
The Year 12 boarders enjoyed their visit to Fairholme last Monday for dinner. It is always lovely to see the warm and friendly interaction between the senior girls and the boarding staff from the two schools. The Brown House boarders enjoyed putt-putt last weekend and a trip to Cobb & Co museum is planned for Sunday.
