This Week in Boarding

12 May 2017

Our Year 12 boarders enjoyed a lovely dinner with Fairholme Year 12 boarders on Monday night. This is a much anticipated annual event and is always a happy, chatty evening. The meal consisted of lasagne, various delicious salads, bread rolls and a fruit platter. The Boarding Committee decorated the dining Room and the Fairholme girls visited our Senior Boarders in Simmons House. Boarder Captain Lucy Geddes and Vice- Captain Bella Joseland ran the evening. There was a friendly quiz with mixed tables competing against one another.

On Friday 2  June our Year 6 and 7 boarders will entertain their Fairholme peers with a Mexican meal and line dancing.  These boarding groups from the two schools are a similar size and these evenings provide the opportunity to make new friends.

Brown House boarders tell me that they really enjoyed an outing to mini golf on the weekend and although a visit to the Jondaryan Woolshed has been postponed, we will look at this for later in the the term.

On Wednesday evening the Year 6 and 7 boarders made macrame keyrings. On Thursday evening all Boarders had fun at the hometown dinner. There were prizes and small treats on the tables. The girls gave a gold coin donation to raise money for Juvenile Brain Cancer research which is a project of the Australian Boarding Schools Association. It is National Boarder week next week.
