During the first week of the September school holidays, Glennie will be offering a holiday enrichment program for girls from Years 5 to 9. Friends of Glennie girls from other schools are welcome to join in the activities. (Please note however, that this is an all girl event!) The program will include: early morning Yoga sessions (for Mums as well); and a choice of activities that include Tennis, Acrogrym, a Glee workshop, Softball, Athletics, Swimming and Stroke Correction, Canvas Bag Painting, Collage, French lessons and an extension to our MFit program. There are many more sessions on offer. The sessions will range from 60 minutes to 90 minutes and will cost $10 a session. The first session will begin at 6:30am and the last session finishes at 5:00pm. Girls can sign up for as many sessions as they would like. Girls will need to provide their own morning tea and lunch. A full program will be posted to the School's website by the end of next week where parents will be able to book and pay for preferred sessions online. The program begins after lunch on Monday, 21 September and will finish on Wednesday afternoon, 23 September.
During those three days there will also be some other sessions on offer for parents/carers and daughters. On Tuesday night, the School will be hosting a panel of professionals, both local and interstate, who will be discussing the topic Raising Adolescent Girls. This will be a separate, bookable event. There will also be another afternoon/evening session for parents/carers and daughters, beginning at 4:00pm where Mrs Jillian Johns will be running a cookery Masterclass, the outcome of which will be eating your own scrumptious meal. Further details about both of these events will be provided in the next few weeks.
This is the first time the School has offered a program like this. We hope that it will provide both enrichment for the girls and an opportunity for them to have some fun over the holiday break. Look out for the Spring into Glennie logo.
