Glennie Grand Champions

31 July 2015

Glennie has been named the 2015 Queensland Interschool Equestrian Grand Champion School. The State Interschool Combined Training and Eventing Championships was this year’s last Interschool team competition for the Glennie equestrian team to compete as a school. Results from this event, the recent competition at Maryborough as well as the Darling Downs Competition were combined to decide which school would be the 2015 champions. The efforts of all Glennie riders has contributed to this fantastic result.

For the final event, a team of 12 girls travelled to Warwick’s Morgan Park last weekend to compete. The girls acquitted themselves well, achieving some excellent team results to finish off the year.

Our Junior Years Glennie riders averaged 97 points each which reflected the consistency of results each girl achieved in her chosen disciplines.

Glennie’s Middle and Senior Years riders won the Lorette Wigan Champion Secondary School Trophy which is given to the Secondary School gaining the most points for the year across all disciplines.

A special congratulations goes to Grace Muirhead and Holly Willmington, who were second and third respectively in the state for the Overall Champion Primary Rider award. Excellent effort, girls!

The last few years have been huge for Glennie, culminating this year in winning the Queensland Interschool Grand Champion School. Glennie was Reserve Champion last year. We would like to thank all of the girls who contributed to this outstanding team result along with their parents, instructors and other supporters for assisting them to achieve their goals.

For some girls though, this is not the last major competition for the year. To date, nine Glennie girls have been selected in the Queensland team to ride in the National Interschool Equestrian Championships being held at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. We wish these girls all the best in this competition at the end of September. Congratulations to the following girls:
