Head Lights

donna-evansLights! Camera! Action! You might be thinking that this relates to last weekend’s very lively and colourful Middle and Senior Years production of 42nd Street at Highfields Cultural Centre. Whilst that is true, the phrase is also widely used in Middle Years as part of the Mfit program which focuses on promoting resilience and student wellbeing. Girls are encouraged to use Lights, Camera, Action as a way to successfully manage any academic or personal hurdles they might face. Lights – illuminate the problem, turn your attention to it; camera – photograph it, examine it as intensely as the camera lens examines its subject; action – take positive action after careful consideration of the context. This simple idea has proved to be a very effective tool for young adolescents.
