Head Lights

gloudemans-tonia-teagloWhat a week of contrasts it has been. There were tears of sadness as we farewelled staff and students from Kyoto Junior Girls High School on Monday morning, and yet great happiness as a result of the homestay program, which has facilitated such lovely connections between young students and welcoming host families. By Tuesday both campuses were a little quiet with approximately 300 girls on camp in Years 4 and 7 to 9, and yet camp girls have been incredibly busy exploring, hiking, swimming, running and laughing. On Wednesday morning we experienced a brief, but dramatic storm and yet on Thursday, Glennie girls were competing on horseback at the Toowoomba Show in temperatures over 35 degrees. Friday has allowed us to reconnect as a community again – to welcome travellers home, swap stories and marvel over the rich diversity that is the Glennie experience.
