Head Lights

wac-2Congratulations to the many Glennie girls who are achieving success in many areas, from equestrian sport to football to the recent Eisteddfod. In the classroom, too, there is real success happening every day. There is also failure, however, and, I would like to put in a good word for that currently unpopular concept. Anne Sobel, in The Chronicle of Higher Education (May 2014) states: Learning to fail and learning from failure can help our students become more resilient, self-aware, innovative and compassionate – and, in the end, successful. Wise parents know that learning from failure is more important than avoiding it.
