Careers and VET
The Glennie School employs a Careers and Vocational Education Training Co-ordinator to assist girls to:
- Explore career options
- Learn about career pathways
- Make appropriate subject choices and select Year 12 QTAC choices
- Undertake work experience
- Pursue vocational training
The School provides access to information for the girls on a wide variety of career options and arranges presentations by a number of organisations and individuals from varied backgrounds and institutions.
Year 10 girls participate in the Be Real, Get Set program designed to teach students real life skills such as budgeting, applying for jobs and resumé writing. The program incorporates practical activities that include being interviewed by those in community, business and government organisations.
Guidance for career choices is provided for Senior Years girls and spans all types of tertiary institutions including university, college and TAFE options as well as providing work experience and traineeship / apprenticeship opportunities.
The School offers Certificate courses in Hospitalty and Information Technology.
