Working at Glennie

Periodically, positions become vacant at The Glennie School in both the teaching and administration areas. These will be advertised on this page and, on occasion, in Seek.

Facilities Maintenance General Hand, full-time, permanent position.

To commence immediately.

The Glennie School is an Anglican school for girls in Toowoomba, providing exceptional education for prep, primary and secondary students with boarding from Year 6. The School enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its programs, care and support offered to students, as well as the commitment, dedication and professionalism of its staff.

We seek a person that has a background in gardens maintenance, building maintenance and refurbishment. You will be a person who is confident in your skills to undertake a variety of maintenance tasks and can work independently but following direction from the Facilities Manager. You will have very good interpersonal skills and can communicate in a warm and understanding manner with staff of the School.

The position is permanent, full-time involving maintenance of the physical environment of the School including demolition as part of an internal refurbishment, carrying of materials, labouring and builders clean. You will also support school events with setting up and moving equipment and provide assistance where necessary to other maintenance staff and projects.

On occasion, you may also be required to drive the School mini-bus for school activities both during and after school hours.

We expect that the successful applicant will be a self starter who will work as part of a cohesive and supportive team whilst providing assistance for other tasks where needed and asking for assistance if necessary.

This is a full-time, permanent position commencing immediately. The current hourly pay is $23.45 and Superannuation is also entitled at either 9.5% or 12.75% depending on employee contribution.

The successful applicant must be supportive and sympathetic to the ethos of Anglican Schools and must either have a current Blue Card or their application in process.
