Concert Band Conductor casual position

The Glennie School is an Anglican school for girls in Toowoomba, providing exceptional education for prep, primary and secondary students with boarding from Year 6. The School enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its programs, care and support offered to students, as well as the commitment, dedication and professionalism of its staff.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, capable and responsible person who will enjoy rehearsing and conducting the Glennie's A grade Concert Band.

As a member of the Glennie community, you will be responsible for conducting the ensemble during performances, the development of ensemble skills, choice of repertoire, sourcing performance opportunities and preparing for local, statewide and national competitions and tours.

This position is a casual position commencing in Term 1 2018 and continuing until the end of the school year. Preferred rehearsals are Thursday afternoons, from 3.30 pm - 5.00 pm each week during term-time. The 2018 casual pay rate is $70 per hour.

In addition, the School requires the successful applicant to be available for a 4-day Music Camp (9 February 2018 - 12 February 2018) and a Sydney Music Tour (1 July 2018 - 8 July 2018). Remuneration for both events will be advised in early 2018.

The successful applicant must be supportive and sympathetic to the ethos of Anglican Schools and must either have a current Blue Card or have their application in process.
