The Glennie Old Girls’ Association exists to keep Old Girls in touch with each other, to bind them in loyalty and common interest in the welfare of the Glennie School, to keep alive its high aims and ideals and, where possible, to contribute to its material progress.
The Association celebrates its 90th year in 2008, having been formed on December 10th, 1918.
The Old Girls’ Notes & News, a newsletter sent out twice a year, in January and July to financial members incorporates news of Old Girls, photos, some reports, Luncheons, Notices of Births, Marriages, Engagements, Condolences and any Reunions.
Fundraising activities support 3 Scholarships and a Bursary each year. The Scholarships are for daughters, granddaughters and great-granddaughters of Old Girls. In addition, fundraising contributes to the ongoing preservation and development of Glennie’s invaluable Archive collection. Other donations are also made to the School from time to time. We encourage all girls to join before they lose touch with the School and their friends, and membership is offered to all girls leaving The Glennie School, not only Year 12.
